Surrounded

Each participant would compete individually. There would be 16 participants in total. The 16 participants would be given the topic to prepare for 24 hours to the event to prepare for either side. On the day of the event, the participants would be given their stance (For or Against) through a draw. There would be eight participants on each side. The participants sit in a circle surrounding the “ConversationChairs.” Following a countdown of 3 seconds, participants from each side must run to the conversation chair. The participant that touches the chair first will get to speak in that round. They will have a period of 5 minutes to engage in a conversation and defend their stance. There will be 10 rounds overall. Points will be awarded and deducted based on the judging criteria, and the participant with the most points will win.
